08:30 – 09:00AM Meet our local guide at the lobby of your hotel in Luang Prabang town.
Then we start cycling out of town to arrive at the Wat Pa Phon Phao Temple. (A forest temple famous for the teachings of Ajahn Saisamut. Its Santi Chediwas built in 1988. The large yellow stupa contains three inside levels plus an outside terrace with a view of the surrounding plains. The inside walls are painted with many Buddhist stories)
Stop at Ban Panom Village, populated by Thai Lue (a tribe with its origin from Southern China), which is well-known for its cotton and silk hand-weaving.
Stop at Gaeng Noon Rapids & the gravesite of Henry Mouhot. (The tomb of the French explorer who showed Angkor Wat to the world and who perished of malaria in 1861. Neglected for decades, his engraved tomb was found by foreign aid staff in 1990)
Arrival at the Elephant Village. Welcome and greeting by our Camp Manager and participate in short briefing. (Elephant Village as a tour destination is a privately owned camp approved by the Lao Government and operated by international specialists and volunteers, who focuses on protection & rehabitation of Elephants in Laos).
Ride the Elephant. Enjoy the impressive experience of a 1 hour (approximately) elephant ride on the Howdah (Elephant seat)
Lunch will be provided at the Elephant Village Restaurant (Buffet lunch served with Coffee or Tea and drinking water)
Take a return boat trip to the Tad Sae Waterfall and spend some time in the crystal clear water (Crystal clear water cascade over multileveled limestone formations, forming pools surrounded by tropical vegetation. An ideal place for swimming and relaxing, a place which can not be reached by road.)
Depart back to Luang Prabang town by bicycle.
05:00PM drop off your hotel. Tour ends.
