Itinerary: Hanoi - Hoabinh - Mai Chau - Halong bay
Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival (-/-/-)
Meet up arrival at Noi Bai/Hanoi International Airport. Transfer to hotel for check-in. Time at leisure. Accommodation in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi (B/-/-)
Full day at leisure in Hanoi, the charming and elegant capital of Vietam. You can visit the fascinating Ho Chi Minh Museum, Temple of Literature, One pillar pagoda, amble through the winding streets of the Old Quarter, or relax in a café by Hoan Kien Lake.
Day 3: Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Mai Chau (B/L/D)
Depart for Hoa Binh province located West of Hanoi. Trek in Maichau valley to  discover local people and this area (4 hours walking). We stay at Thai people.
Day 4: Mai Chau - Hang Kia (B/L/D)
We visit the White Thai village in Xa Linh commune and then make a 3 hour trek to the village of Hang Kia. Our hosts for the evening are the H’mong minority people. Their hospitality allows us to find out a little more of their lives and culture - and they will want to learn about you too.
Day 5: Hang Kia - Kun Pheo (B/L/D)
Following breakfast we set off on foot for Van Village inhabited by White Thai people (7 hours walking). Our hosts this evening will treat us to a fine meal and stories of life in Van. Watch out for their home brewed rice wine.
Day 6: Kun Pheo - Xam Khoe - Hanoi (B/L/-)
A trek this morning to Khoe Village to meet Thai ethnic minority (3 hours walking). Drive back to Hanoi. Lucnh en route. Time at leisure. Accommodation in Hanoi.
Day 7: Hanoi - Halong (B/L/D)
Depart for Halong bay (170km east of Hanoi), we board a private boat to cruise through Halong Bay to the isolated Ho Ba Ham Island. Lunch will be served on board while cruising through the bay. At Ho Ba Ham Island we set up camp then have the rest of the day to explore the area by kayak. Dinner and overnight on  board.
Day 8: Halong bay - Hanoi (B/L/-)
Continue kayaking as we have lunch. At 12:00 disembark at Bai Chay wharf, then return to Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi (B/-/-)
Leisure time until transfer to Hanoi International Airport for departure flight. End of services. or Extension tours on request.
