Vietnam to Exempt Entry Visa for Russian Arrivals in 2009 |

Russian visitors holding ordinary passports will be allowed into Vietnam for a stay of 15 days without entry visas from early next year, the Prime Minister has decided.
Visa exemptions will apply for Russian nationals who come to Vietnam for all purposes, the decision states.

Vietnam Records 2007 GDP Growth at 8.44 per cent, CPI at 12.63 per cent |

Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth is estimated to hit ten-year high record at 8.44 per cent in 2007, compared with the 8.17 per cent growth in 2006, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Hong Phuc said at the Government’s monthly regular meeting.
Vietnam has reached and accomplished key economic criteria targeted for this year, he said.

U.S. Global Consult to Build Vietnam's Biggest Int'l-Standard Racecourse |

An international-standard racecourse, the biggest of this kind in Vietnam will be built in Soc Son District, Hanoi in the coming time after a rather long-term delay, state media said November 22.
The Global Consultant Network L.L.C of the U.S. and the Hanoi tourism company will implement and manage the project at a total cost of between US$500 million and US$1 billion on an area of 235 hectares.

Tourism showcase of Vietnam made strong impression on participants at the World Travel Market in London between November 12-15, according to Vietnam Tourism Association’s Tourism Consultancy and Promotion Center Director, Do Tung Lam.
The Vietnamese pavilion, co-hosted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association, showcased the products and services of national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and 15 Vietnamese tourism companies.

Continued Inflow of American Indirect Investment in Vietnam |

“Americans have increased their investment in Vietnam to make up 50 per cent of the total indirect investment in the country,” said Mr James Riedel, senior expert of the Vietnam-US Trade Agreement Implementation Project (Star Vietnam).
The statistics show that the Americans are increasing their indirect investments in Vietnam through foreign investment funds. The investment has reached almost US$1 billion with the enforcement of Vietnam-US Trade Agreement in mid-2006.

Vietnam-U.S. Joint Venture to Build US$112 Mln Tourist Area in Quang Ninh, Vietnam |

The Vietnam-U.S. joint venture has received a license from the northern Quang Ninh province to build a luxury tourism complex worth US$112 million in Van Don Economic Zone, said Vu Nguyen Nhiem, chairman of the provincial government.
The complex covering 300 hectares is the biggest tourism project licensed into Van Ron since July when Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung agreed to develop Van Don District into an economic zone.
